Jungle acquires Prodigioso Volcán to strengthen strategic and narrative transformation
Jungle has acquired Prodigioso Volcán, a company specialising in cultural transformation, communication, design, narrative and content. The acquisition is part of the group’s organic growth plan and strengthens its ability to address complex challenges in constantly changing environments.
Founded in 2010 by María Moya and Mario Tascón, a key figure in the development of digital journalism and a leading figure in the transformation of communication on the internet, Prodigioso Volcán has established itself as a firm specialising in corporate and editorial communication and transformation in complex scenarios, combining journalistic criteria, design and technology. The company develops projects for clients such as Iberdrola, La Caixa Foundation, Novartis and Telefónica.
This operation enables Jungle to compete in strategic communication projects, incorporating key narrative expertise. “Prodigioso Volcán brings prestige at a time when it is becoming increasingly important for companies to communicate rigorously in complex environments. This is a coherent integration with our growth strategy, which is based on adding specialisation in key areas,” explains Agustín Vivancos, CEO of Jungle. The operation was advised by Grant Thornton, the Pérez-Llorca firm and the Jungle internal M&A team, which is leading the execution of its inorganic growth strategy.
The majority shareholders of Prodigioso Volcán, María Moya, Jorge Martín-Luengo and Antonio Pasagali, will continue to lead the project. María Moya, the firm’s co-founder, will continue to lead Prodigioso Volcán and assume the role of president of the company. Martín-Luengo will continue to serve as executive business director and Pasagali will continue as executive creative director. Carolina Miyata will take on the role of general manager.
“This integration allows us to bring our approach to communication to a much larger scale without compromising our identity. Jungle is the perfect partner for us to grow without losing what makes us unique,” said María Moya, president of Prodigioso Volcán.
Jungle, a certified BCorp company, achieved total revenues of 60 million euros in the last year, representing a 49% increase on the previous year, and following this acquisition, it is expected to reach 90 million euros by 2026. Prodigioso Volcán is the sixth company to be integrated into Jungle in the last two years, following the acquisition of Rocket, a company specialising in technology and digital marketing.
