Jungle acquires creative agency BUM to add more capabilities in Barcelona

Jungle acquires BUM agency to increase creative muscle in Barcelona and expand its physical presence in Catalonia. The company, led by David Morales Amorós and Josep Maria Urgell and expert in conceptualization, strategy and creativity, joins Jungle’s new offices in 22@ and will share space with five other companies of the group.

BUM has been working in the local market for 30 years, has a deep knowledge of the idiosyncrasies of the city and its campaigns have influenced society to the point of turning phrases and concepts into popular culture. They are responsible for such iconic projects as ‘Envás on vas’, a campaign for the Agència de Residus de Catalunya on separate collection, or ‘Foc Off’ for the Generalitat de Catalunya to raise awareness of the importance of fire prevention.

Formed by a team of 17 professionals, BUM stands out for its work for the public and institutional sector, with projects for the Generalitat de Catalunya, TMB Transportes Metropolitanos de Barcelona, Barcelona Energy, TV3 and a conglomerate of scraps that manage electrical waste. David and Josep Maria have also developed important projects in the sports field for organizations such as Futbol Club Barcelona. Other clients include Ecoembes, Gran Via 2 and Novamont.

‘Josep and I started working together with creativity at the core of the business and, 30 years later, the integration in Jungle will allow us to maintain that spirit, but with a qualitative increase of clients and integrated into a team that also understands creativity as an essential factor’, according to David Morales, co-founder and creative director of BUM.

‘Belonging to Jungle is like having an ISO certification that guarantees creative quality. In recent years we have become strong in the public sector and, from now on, we will multiply our creative capacity, we will approach the private sector and we will bring Jungle closer to the public sector’, according to Josep Maria Urgell, co-founder and creative director of BUM.

BUM’s consolidated presence in Catalonia will allow Jungle to penetrate a new market of clients and talent. Its craft will increase the value proposition of the ecosystem, increasing opportunities for cross-selling and cross-company combinations, one of the main strategic focuses of the creative ecosystem. With the entry of BUM Agency, Jungle is formed by companies specialized in advertising, communication, social, futures design, product and digital service design, technology development and brand strategy.

This acquisition follows the incorporation of Milú into the ecosystem, a technology consulting firm with expertise in digital product conceptualization and development, usability design, UX/UI, data analytics and consulting.
